What is Acne Vulgaris?
Acne vulgaris, better known as pimples or zits, is an inflammatory skin disease. It occurs due to changes in the skin structures consisting of a hair follicle and its associated sebaceous gland pilosebaceous units.
Acne usually occurs at earlier stages in life; although adults may get it too. It is probably the most widely dreaded condition for teenagers everywhere. While, in most people, pimples disappear by the time they are done with college, severe cases of acne may result in permanent damage to the skin. Below, we will try to explain what acne is, what causes it and various methods of treatment.
