Priapism
What is Priapism? The term comes from the name of a Greek god Priapus, who was the son of Aphrodite and Dionysius. Priapus was the god of fertility and, of, all things gardens (a flourishing garden is actually synonymous with fertility, in a way), but also, of lechery and promiscuousness. He was usually depicted as a hairy man (or goatze) with a huge penis. Priapism can happen at any age, but occurs somewhat rarely in children. Statistically, it occurs only among 0.2% of all patients that complain of various sexual dysfunctions. Most cases occur between two age groups: five to ten year olds and twenty to fifty year olds.
